Frequently Asked Questions About Consignment
Consignment is a partnership so both the consignee and Lyon's Head must agree on the value of an item. It is in everyone's best interest to price items at a realistic, fair market value in order to sell them within 30 days. After 30 days the price is reduced by 15%; after 60 days there is another 15% price reduction.
How long is the consignment period?
Our consignment is 90 days. If the item does not sell it must be picked up by the owner within 5 days after the 90-day limit. If not picked up by the owner, items become the property of Lyon's Head and are disposed of at its discretion.
When do I get paid and how much?
You receive 50% of the sale price and Lyon's Head retains 50%. Your check is mailed on the 5th day of the month for the previous month's sales.
Where do you get your consignment items?
Lyon's Head works as the owner's agent to sell only gently used quality items in a well displayed and pleasant atmosphere. Most of the pieces you find at Lyon's Head come from other fine homes in the area. Some are antiques with rich histories and some are newer pieces. Some may be from model homes or from families who are relocating or downsizing.
Can I return an item I purchase if I don't like it or it doesn't fit my space when I get it home?
Due to the unique nature of consignments, there are no refunds or returns on anything. We encourage you to take measurements, bring in cushions to test color, etc., to make sure you will be happy with your purchase once you buy it.
